About the teraKUHN project

The teraKUHN project seeks to educate and inspire students from 11 to 111 to study the science, technology, and engineering of space travel to the Moon and botany in that hostile environment with the goal of getting someone to grow plants on the Moon using in situ resources.

The Moon is our nearest neighbor in space, and it is the gateway to the rest of the solar system. It provides practical opportunities for discoveries in the field of life sciences on alien worlds and for design and refinement of technology used in exploration throughout our solar system.

Unlike other web sites dedicated to space settlement, the teraKUHN web site focuses on educating students on how the science and technology of the Apollo program and other space programs worked and how smaller, cheaper, and safer versions of various technologies could be leveraged today or in the near future to conduct a mission to grow plants on the Moon. For example: cubesats, microcontrollers, and modern programming languages could make for smaller, cheaper, and safer spacecraft for a Lunar project.
